Fasting and Lasting. From Retox to Detox

What are your biggest challenges?

At least once or twice a year I put myself on a fasting detox as part of my health and fitness programme. It always provides me with many challenges but it has to be done.

Yesterday I returned from one of the most fantastic weddings that I have ever been to. I met many good friends that I haven’t seen for a while and many new friends.

I went away a few days earlier and had a few days in Barcelona before driving over to France for the wedding with my dad and two friends, Mike and David.

During this period I have had plenty of food and drink that would not be deemed entirely healthy from a purist perspective. However, I have laughed more in the past week than I have in a good while – and I laugh a lot.

Life is about balance.

I have never preached perfect health to anyone so I do not feel obliged to live a perfectly healthy life (whatever that may be). I am anything but a perfect model of health. However, I do talk about balance.

After six days of fun and relaxation on my holiday I am now ready to balance the books and put myself on a week long fast. I know that during the next week that I will have several moments where I will be tempted to eat – I am only human!

By making my intentions public I know that I will do this – because in making this public declaration I am holding myself to a higher level of accountability.

What intentions are you ready to raise the bar on and make public?

I invite you to share them on this blog and by doing so you will raise the bar for yourself.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Warmest wishes from the man who is now watching his friend and housemate eat breakfast in front of me. This is the first test of many to come during the next week!

    Hi Adam

I like your blog. I too raised the bar and for the last 8 weeks have just been eating raw food after attending a Peter Pure Seminar. I feel great, have lost over a stone, have more energy and people tell me my skin is glowing.

    Amazing what diet can do.
